Minister of Transport Razzaq Muhibs Al-Saadawi chaired a meeting of the Iraqi team in the Iraqi-Spanish Joint Committee, today, Thursday, in the Ministry building, to discuss the draft of the joint minutes prepared by the Iraqi side, and coordinate them with the draft minutes received from the Spanish side. A statement by the media office of the Ministry said that the Minister chaired a meeting of the Iraqi team in the Iraqi-Spanish Joint Committee for Economic, Technical and Commercial Cooperation, in the presence of Ghassan Farhan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Trade, Deputy Chairman of the Iraqi side, and Dr. Salman Al-Bahadeli, representative of the Ministry of Transport in the committee, to discuss the draft of the joint minutes prepared by the joint committee and coordinate them with the draft minutes received from the Spanish side. The statement added that the meeting discussed the amendments submitted by the Spanish side and the comments of the representatives of the Iraqi side from the relevant ministries on what was stated in the Spanish minutes. The statement confirmed that the next session of the committee intends to sign a number of memoranda of understanding in various fields. According to the statement, the Minister of Transport indicated that Prime Minister Eng. Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani directed to resolve the procedures and files before the visit of the Spanish Foreign Minister to Baghdad soon, stressing that the government is keen to follow up on all agreements with countries in the region and the world, in a way that serves the interests of the country and its people. The statement quoted the representative of the Ministry of Transport in the committee, Director General of the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring, Dr. Salman Saddam Al-Bahadeli, as confirming: The Iraqi side completed the draft of its minutes and sent it to the Spanish side, and some paragraphs were amended, after which it was sent through the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, indicating that the mini ster's notes were recorded to complete and finalize the final draft, and submit it to the Spanish side. He explained that the Iraqi side completed 5 memoranda of understanding, and the remaining six memoranda are under discussion, indicating that the minister directed to circulate them to all ministries, and then send them to the Spanish side. Al-Bahadli continued, saying that the Spanish side suggested discussing the remaining draft memoranda for the Iraqi ministries, including (Justice, Foreign Affairs, Labor, Culture, and Education), between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the relevant authorities, as they need to be researched and discussed by the Spanish side, after they are completed by the Iraqi side.
