Thunderstorms and Flash Floods Expected in Parts of Saudi Arabia

Riyadh: Moderate to heavy thunderstorms, which could lead to flash floods and are accompanied by hail and gusty winds, may affect parts of Riyadh, Eastern, and Northern Borders regions.

According to Saudi Press Agency, moderate rain is anticipated in parts of Tabuk, Al-Jouf, Hail, and Qassim regions. Fog formation is also a possibility in these areas.

Light snowfall and frost formation may occur over parts of the highlands in Tabuk and Hail regions, as well as the northeastern highlands of Madinah Region. Skies in the western and southwestern parts of the Kingdom are expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy, with thunderstorms and rainfall.

Winds over the Red Sea are forecasted to be northwesterly to northerly in the northern and central parts at speeds of 25-50 km/h, while in the southern part, speeds may range from 12-60 km/h. Wave heights are expected to vary from half a meter to over two and a half meters, with the sea conditions ranging from calm to choppy.

In the Arabian Gulf, winds are predicted to be westerly to southwesterly at speeds of 15-60 km/h. Wave heights will range from half a meter to over two and a half meters, with the sea conditions expected to be calm to choppy.
