Riyadh: The Transport General Authority (TGA) announced today that 24.6 million passengers used public bus services across Saudi cities during the third quarter of 2025, reflecting the growing popularity of public transport as a reliable option that facilitates mobility and enhances quality of life across the Kingdom.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the quarterly report issued by the authority shows that Riyadh topped the list with more than 18.68 million passengers, followed by Makkah with 3.21 million, Jeddah with one million, and the Dammam-Qatif metropolitan area with 737,000 passengers.
Madinah recorded around 326,000 passengers, followed by Qassim with 203,000, Taif with 180,000, Al-Ahsa with 108,000, Jazan with 107,000, and Tabuk with 41,000 passengers.
These figures highlight the continued success of the authority's efforts, carried out in partnership with relevant entities, to improve and expand public bus services within cities, enhance operational efficiency, and extend coverage to include more neighborhoods and key urban areas. The initiatives support the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy and reinforce the appeal of public transportation as part of a more integrated and sustainable urban mobility landscape.
