UN Resident Coordinator Stresses Collaboration for Sustainable Development at UNIDO Conference

Riyadh: United Nations Resident Coordinator in Saudi Arabia Mohamed El Zarkani emphasized the critical role of industrial development in strengthening economic systems, combating poverty, and creating job opportunities.

According to Saudi Press Agency, speaking on behalf of UN Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres at the 21st UNIDO General Conference, El Zarkani stated, "Governments and businesses must collaborate to alleviate the burden on developing nations by accelerating investments in sustainable manufacturing. This enables them to build essential infrastructure and create jobs in renewable energy and technology sectors."

He stressed the need to unlock capital for sustainable development and reaffirmed UNIDO's commitment to finding solutions and fostering partnerships. He also highlighted the importance of seizing opportunities to promote peace, prosperity, and a sustainable future for all.
