UN Warns of Escalating Violations of International Law in Lebanon

Beirut: The United Nations warned of the deteriorating situation in Lebanon, where 886 people, including children, have been killed as a result of Israeli airstrikes. The UN noted violations of international humanitarian law, including the targeting of residential areas, civilian infrastructure, and medical facilities, as well as the widespread displacement of the population.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the United Nations confirmed that Israeli airstrikes destroyed entire residential buildings in densely populated urban areas, killing entire families, including women and children. Displaced people living in tents along Beirut's waterfront were also bombed, and 16 medical personnel were killed in recent days.

The UN indicated that Israeli evacuation orders and warnings have expanded to include large areas in southern Lebanon, including the area between the Litani River and Zahrani River, which amounts to forced displacement prohibited under international humanitarian law.
