Barcelona: The University of Hail, represented by its College of Engineering, achieved a significant milestone by securing first place in the Undergraduate Paper Competition at the ninth International European Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management. The prestigious event took place in Barcelona, Spain, from July 20 to 22.

According to Saudi Press Agency, students from the university's Department of Industrial Engineering were honored for their exceptional research paper. The study explored the cultural and institutional determinants of implementing the Six Sigma methodology in both Saudi Arabia and Germany. The competition, sponsored by Siemens, is a highly regarded accolade recognizing exemplary student research in industrial engineering and operations management. It evaluates entries based on scientific criteria such as research quality, originality, methodology, practical value, and the ability to tackle issues and challenges in the industrial and operations sectors.
