Yemen: The Yemeni government welcomed the directives issued by the Saudi leadership, represented by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to provide urgent fuel derivatives support worth $150 million to cover the operational needs of power plants through the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY). According to Saudi Press Agency, the government said the support reflects the deep historical ties and shared destiny between the two countries. It also underscores the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to supporting the Yemeni people and alleviating their humanitarian and economic suffering amid the exceptional circumstances Yemen is facing. The government noted that the assistance, which came under the direct follow-up of Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, will directly contribute to improving the operational efficiency of powe r plants, easing the burden on citizens, and supporting the continuity of commercial, service, and essential activities. The Yemeni government stressed that Saudi Arabia's sincere positions toward Yemen have not been limited to humanitarian and relief aspects but have also extended to supporting development, stability, and economic reform efforts, as well as strengthening the capacity of state institutions to meet obligations toward citizens. The government said this reflects Saudi Arabia's pivotal role in supporting Yemen's security and stability. The statement also praised the vital role played by SDRPY in implementing strategic, service, and development projects across various sectors, describing the program as an effective model of sustainable fraternal and development partnership. The Yemeni government additionally expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia's firm and consistent positions in support of the Yemeni people across various stages and circumstances.
