Riyadh: The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has thwarted two attempts to smuggle 480,494 Captagon pills, which were found hidden in a vehicle and a truck that arrived in the Kingdom through the King Fahd Causeway and Dhiba Port. According to Saudi Press Agency, ZATCA stated that the seized drugs were discovered following customs procedures, inspections, and security checks, including the use of sniffer dogs. The first attempt occurred at the King Fahd Causeway, where 200,000 pills were found concealed in the spare tire compartment of a vehicle. The second attempt took place at Dhiba Port, where 280,494 pills were hidden within a shipment of "machines" on a truck arriving through the port. ZATCA reaffirmed its commitment to tightening customs control over the Kingdom's imports and exports, stressing its firm stance against smuggling attempts. This effort is conducted in coordination with the General Directorate of Drug Control (GDNC) to ensure the safety and protection of society.
