ZATCA Urges Businesses to File VAT Returns for August

Riyadh: The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has called on businesses subject to value-added tax (VAT) whose annual supplies of goods and services exceed SAR40 million to submit their tax returns for August no later than September 30. Businesses have been encouraged to expedite the filing process through ZATCA's website or the smartphone application 'ZATCA' to avoid penalties. Penalties for late submission range from a minimum of 5% to a maximum of 25% of the VAT due.

According to Saudi Press Agency, ZATCA has also provided various channels for taxpayers from the business sector to seek further information on VAT. They can contact ZATCA's call center at the unified number 19993, which operates around the clock, or reach out via the X account (@Zatca_Care), email ([email protected]), or the live chat service on its website.

VAT is one of the tax systems currently in effect in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is an indirect tax imposed on all goods and services bought and sold by businesses, with certain exceptions.
