Assistant Minister of Culture Explores Collaboration at Victoria and Albert Museum

London: Assistant Minister of Culture Rakan Altouq visited the Victoria and Albert Museum in London today. During his visit, he engaged in discussions with the museum's Director Tristram Hunt, focusing on the importance of cultural cooperation and exchange between the two kingdoms in various cultural fields, including the museum sector.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting also delved into potential areas of collaboration between the Ministry of Culture and the Victoria and Albert Museum. Key topics included long- and short-term loans, the exchange of art exhibitions, and the development of workshops aimed at creating interactive activities for young audiences to enhance their engagement with the museum sector.

The assistant minister of culture also took a tour of the Victoria and Albert Museum, which was established in 1852 and named after Queen Victoria and her husband Prince Albert. The museum is the world's largest collection of applied and decorative arts, boasting millions of objects across 145 galleries. It documents thousands of years of art history from regions including Europe, North America, Asia, and North Africa, featuring collections such as ceramics, glass, textiles, national costumes, silver, jewelry, furniture, sculpture, prints, drawings, and photographs.
