‘At the Edge of Renewal’ Exhibition Opens in Jeddah

Jeddah:The Jameel Library at Hayy Jameel has inaugurated the "At the Edge of Renewal" exhibition, which highlights the creative contributions of women from Gulf countries in the fields of writing, publishing, arts, and archival practices. The exhibition is set to run until April 10, 2027, and includes materials being unveiled to the public for the first time.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the exhibition assembles a diverse array of books, periodicals, oral history materials, and both independent and experimental publications. These documents capture the production, publication, and distribution of creative works within the region. Additionally, the exhibition offers access to materials not previously part of institutional collections, such as drafts, prototypes of books and artworks, works in progress, and completed pieces, illustrating their progression from concept to completion.

The opening program of the exhibition featured a panel discussion that delved into the gaps in archives, memory, and history. It also included a session combining reading with textile-inspired collaborative activities, a group reading, and a theatrical performance.
