Makkah: The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) announced the readiness of communications and technology services for this year's 1447 AH Hajj season, with unlimited support and enablement from the wise leadership, and in integration with all government entities, the private sector, entrepreneurs, and the nonprofit sector.
According to Saudi Press Agency, during the inspection tour, Minister of Communications and Information Technology and CST Board Chairman Abdullah Alswaha, accompanied by CST Governor Haytham AlOhali, visited several telecom service provider sites in Makkah and the holy sites to review the readiness of digital infrastructure and communications services for this year's Hajj.
CST stated that service provider preparations included providing the best digital and innovative solutions based on emerging technologies and artificial intelligence, with more than 5,200 telecom towers in Makkah, Madinah, and the holy sites, in addition to 100% 4G and 5G mobile network coverage in the holy sites. The average mobile internet speed reached 307 Mbps in Makkah, while the average mobile internet speed reached 364 Mbps in Madinah.
CST affirmed that it harnesses all capabilities of the technical and human ecosystem to facilitate communications and technology services and ensure their provision at the highest levels of quality. This is achieved through robust digital infrastructure with the efficiency and quality needed to enable the public and private sectors to use the latest innovations in emerging technologies and artificial intelligence.
CST had completed its preparations early in cooperation with telecom service providers in Makkah, Madinah, the holy sites, and various land, air, and sea ports to ensure the readiness of digital infrastructure and its integration with government and private entities to serve pilgrims and enable them to perform their rituals with ease and tranquility.
