Flydubai Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Tabuk After Cockpit Incident

Tabuk:A Flydubai flight made an emergency landing at Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Airport after an inflight emergency was declared due to an altercation in the cockpit.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the incident occurred on Flydubai flight FZ1073, which was managed by competent Saudi authorities. The aircraft, carrying 174 passengers and eight crew members, landed safely at 9:45 a.m. All passengers received necessary care and continued their journey on a replacement aircraft later that day. Preliminary investigations by Saudi authorities, in coordination with a security team from the United Arab Emirates, found that the co-pilot assaulted the captain, resulting in injuries to both. Both pilots were treated at a local hospital and, after medical clearance, departed for Abu Dhabi on October 1 with the UAE security team.

The official source emphasized Saudi Arabia's commitment to handling emergencies in accordance with international and humanitarian obligations, ensuring aviation safety and demonstrating the readiness of the Kingdom's aviation and security sectors to effectively respond to such incidents.
