Riyadh: President of the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) Fahad Aldossari held a meeting in Riyadh with UNICEF Director for the Gulf Area Lana Al Wreikat to discuss prospects for cooperation in fields of mutual interest.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting focused on strengthening collaboration and exchanging expertise to support data production, enhance data quality, and reinforce its role in shaping public policy and decision-making, in line with international standards and best practices.
The two sides also reviewed GASTAT's ongoing strategic transformation, aimed at positioning the authority as a leading regional and global statistical institution through advancing its digital infrastructure, expanding data accessibility, building national statistical capacity, and deepening international partnerships.
Discussions further covered the Kingdom's preparations to host the sixth UN World Data Forum in Riyadh this year, highlighting the importance of regional and international cooperation to ensure the event's success and advance global dialogue on data for sustainable development.
Aldossari stressed that the authority is keen to expand its cooperation with regional and international organizations to boost statistical capacity building and consolidate the Kingdom's position as a leading regional and global center in the field of data.
