Gcc: GCC Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi said GCC health ministers discussed implementing leaders' directives from their April 28 meeting in Jeddah to enhance health security and ensure continuity of health services.
According to Saudi Press Agency, this discussion took place during an extraordinary meeting of the Committee of the Ministers of Health of the GCC states, which was conducted via videoconference. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hasan, Minister of Health of the Kingdom of Bahrain and President of the current session.
The secretary-general noted that the ministers welcomed the steps initiated to begin executing the leaders' directives. A thorough review and discussion took place regarding the initial steps for planning the implementation of these directives. This includes strategies for establishing regional medical stockpiles, coordinating emergency health response protocols, and enhancing shared disease surveillance systems. These measures are intended to boost the joint GCC medical readiness to handle crises and disasters effectively.
