Riyadh: The General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) concluded the 'Life After Retirement' Innovation Hackathon, held from September 7 to 9 at the organization's headquarters in Riyadh, with the participation of 42 university students and recent graduates. The hackathon aimed to harness their creative ideas to develop innovative solutions that enhance quality of life after retirement. This reflects GOSI's commitment to engaging young Saudi men and women in developing solutions that serve their communities and create sustainable value in the field of social insurance.
According to Saudi Press Agency, on the final day of the hackathon, the participating teams completed 14 innovative solutions under the retirement track, one of four specialized tracks within GOSI's innovation hackathon program. The tracks cover health, financial stability, quality of life and community, and opportunities in self-employment and the sharing economy. Participants then presented their solutions to a specialized judging panel for evaluation. The assessment criteria included originality and the ability to offer unconventional solutions, feasibility, impact on retirees' lives, sustainability, and the clarity and completeness of the concepts.
At the conclusion of the hackathon, Assistant Governor for Strategy and Transformation Marwan Al-Ghamdi honored the teams that placed first, second, and third, in recognition of the innovative solutions they presented to address the challenges of life after retirement and their use of modern and emerging technologies to develop practical, implementable models.
