Industry Minister Embarks on Strategic Visit to Kazakhstan

Astana: Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef has begun an official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, accompanied by Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Mining Affairs Eng. Khalid Al-Mudaifer. The visit aims to strengthen economic relations between the two countries, expand cooperation in the industry and mining sectors, and support participation in the Astana Mining and Metallurgy Congress (AMM).

According to Saudi Press Agency, during the visit, the minister will hold a series of meetings with several Kazakh officials, including the deputy prime minister and minister of artificial intelligence and digital development, as well as the minister of industry and construction. The minister will also meet with leaders of several prominent Kazakh companies and institutions, including KAZ Minerals, Tau-Ken Samruk, Kazatomprom, which specializes in uranium production, and Baiterek Holding.

The meetings will discuss opportunities for cooperation in mining and critical minerals and review the investment opportunities the Kingdom offers to international investors. The minister will participate in a high-level panel discussion titled 'From the Depths to the Heights of Intelligence: Global Partnership for the Future of the Mining and Metallurgical Complex.' The session will address the future of the mining and minerals sector, as well as the role of advanced technologies and artificial intelligence in developing mining value chains and enhancing the sector's sustainability globally.

Alkhorayef will also visit the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) to review its services and capabilities in supporting investments. He will also tour Tau-Ken Samruk's gold processing facility to explore the latest technologies used in mineral processing operations. The visit comes amid growing relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Kazakhstan. The two countries have maintained diplomatic relations for more than three decades since their establishment in 1994.
