Lyon: Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef met with Sanofi's Executive Vice President and Head of Vaccines, Thomas Triomphe, in Lyon to discuss potential collaborations aimed at localizing vaccine and biopharmaceutical production in the Kingdom.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting included a presentation on Sanofi's global operations, strategic goals in vaccine and biopharmaceutical manufacturing, and its investments in research and development. Minister Alkhorayef also toured Sanofi's industrial facilities, observing the various stages of vaccine production, from developing active ingredients to the final inspection and monitoring processes.
Additionally, the minister visited Benta Group's headquarters in Lyon, accompanied by Chairman and CEO Bernard Tannoury. He learned about the company's history, its footprint in the French market, and its growth in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
These engagements are part of Minister Alkhorayef's official visit to France, aimed at fostering industrial partnerships, attracting investments in the biopharmaceutical sector, and facilitating the transfer of advanced technologies.
The visit aligns with the National Industrial Strategy's objectives to enhance local capabilities in producing medicines and medical supplies, contributing to the Kingdom's health security.
