Jazan’s Equestrian Heritage Celebrated on World Horse Day

Jazan: On World Horse Day, the enduring place of horses in the cultural memory of Jazan Region is being highlighted, reflecting centuries of heritage in which they have symbolized authenticity, horsemanship, and the deep connection between people and their traditions.

According to Saudi Press Agency, passed down through generations, horses remain an integral part of the region's folk heritage, embodying values of courage, generosity, and loyalty while representing the community's strong connection to its cultural identity.

Horses also hold a special place in Saudi culture due to their historical and civilizational significance, as well as the noble values associated with them in Arabic literature and historical accounts.

In Jazan Region, the Fursan Show Jumping Association plays an active role in preserving equestrian heritage and strengthening its presence within the community.

Chairman of the Board of the Fursan Show Jumping Association Dr. Mohammed Qahl said that World Horse Day, observed on July 11, is a global occasion to celebrate the importance of horses and underscore their status as an integral part of the history and heritage of nations.

He added that the association works to promote equestrian culture by organizing initiatives, camps, and training programs aimed at preparing riders, enhancing their performance, developing their skills, and raising awareness of the values of horsemanship.
