K.A.CARE Engages in International Nuclear Reactor Safety Meeting

Pisa: King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (K.A.CARE) participated in the second international meeting of the Consortium of Users of Thermal-Hydraulics Computational Tools for Nuclear Reactor Safety and Design (CONUSAF), held in Pisa, Italy. The event brought together experts and researchers from various international entities specializing in the nuclear field.

According to Saudi Press Agency, K.A.CARE presented three specialized technical papers at the meeting. These papers reviewed the results of the organization's contribution to the 2026 joint benchmark study related to the Counter-Current Flow Limitation (CCFL) phenomenon. The studies utilized advanced computational programs and provided further analysis using an open-source program to simulate fluid motion.

Additionally, K.A.CARE proposed a future benchmark study for 2027, which will address heat transfer within microchannels in advanced steam generator technology. This proposal underscores the organization's commitment to the development of nuclear reactor analysis and safety technologies.

K.A.CARE's participation is part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the Kingdom's presence in international scientific forums, exchange expertise with specialized research entities, and support the development of national capabilities in the nuclear field.
