Kidana Advances Digital Transformation in the Holy Sites with the SCADA System to Sustain Services

Kidana: Kidana Development Company, the executive arm of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites, continues to activate the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system as a key pillar in the digital transformation of asset management. This contributes to ensuring the continuity and efficiency of essential services in the holy sites during the Hajj season of 1447 AH.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the SCADA system operates through a unified control center that links and monitors operational infrastructure in real time. The system includes monitoring more than 400 backup tanks, and over 300 cooling systems, in addition to monitoring and controlling more than 800 electrical panels, 500 misting fans, and 1,000 restroom complexes.

The system helps detect faults and potential outages before they occur, enabling operational teams to intervene immediately to address them through real-time sensing and control systems. This reduces response time and enhances the operational readiness of facilities and services across the holy sites.

It also improves asset management efficiency, reduces waste, and supports the reliability of infrastructure and the continuity of services provided to pilgrims during the Hajj season.
