King Salman Royal Reserve Development Authority Highlights Environmental Initiatives on World Environment Day

Riyadh: King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority emphasized its initiatives to raise community awareness of environmental protection in alignment with World Environment Day, celebrated annually on June 5. The authority utilized its social media platforms to disseminate educational content underscoring the significance of environmental conservation and the preservation of natural resources.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the authority also underlined the reserve's role in enhancing biodiversity by offering a secure habitat for wildlife and native plants, while supporting national efforts to attain sustainable environmental development. The initiatives showcased included the rehabilitation of over 750,000 hectares of degraded land, restoration of vegetation cover, and the planting of more than four million seedlings within the reserve.

The authority indicated that its involvement in World Environment Day demonstrates its dedication to promoting sustainability, preserving environmental heritage for future generations, and increasing public awareness of environmental issues. These efforts align with Saudi Vision 2030, contributing to the improvement of quality of life and progress in environmental sustainability objectives.
