Maldives: A team from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), accompanied by a delegation of donors from the Saudi Lives and Livelihoods Fund (LLF), visited the Maldives to review the progress of the "Supporting Communities' Livelihoods in the Fisheries Sector through Sustainable Energy" project, funded by the LLF of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB). According to Saudi Press Agency, the project is valued at more than $13 million and seeks to strengthen the fisheries value chain in the Maldives by providing qualified boats equipped with refrigerated seawater (RSW) cooling systems and solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. It also aims to improve marketing channels, carry out analytical studies, and develop practical solutions that enhance youth and women's participation in fishing activities while expanding access to international markets for Maldivian fishery products. The visit underscores KSrelief's commitment to supporting international initiatives that foster inclusive growth and env ironmental sustainability, enhance partnerships, and deliver a positive impact on the lives of communities worldwide.
