Madinah Regional Municipality Intensifies Food Safety Inspections Amid Influx of Hajj Pilgrims

Madinah: With the start of the Hajj season for the year 1446 AH, and as the number of pilgrims arriving in Madinah increases, the Madinah Regional Municipality is actively conducting inspections and monitoring food products.

According to Saudi Press Agency, field teams are continuing to ensure the safety and quality of food in various commercial establishments. At its specialized laboratories, the municipality has conducted 4,351 food sample analyses, with results indicating that 4,165 samples conformed to approved standards, while 186 samples were deemed unsuitable for consumption.

The municipality emphasized the continuation of intensive inspection rounds and ongoing testing as part of its commitment to enhancing food safety standards. It underscored the importance of food establishments adhering to health regulations and approved criteria to ensure consumer safety.

The municipality also encouraged individuals to report any issues or violations related to food safety and quality through the hotline 940 or via other official communication channels.
