Makkah: The national consumer industries exhibition in Makkah, running for 11 days until January 16, continues to provide visitors with a comprehensive look at the advancements of Saudi industries and the high quality of national products. The exhibition's pavilions offer a wealth of information on Saudi manufacturing, presenting investors, entrepreneurs, and shoppers with a diverse range of products that support and promote local industry. According to Saudi Press Agency, a notable highlight is the use of national products in perfumery, which form a significant part of luxury fragrance ingredients. Taif city alone is home to 860 rose farms, producing approximately 500 million roses annually, alongside 45 rose processing plants. Taif roses have been inscribed onto UNESCO's Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2024. In Madinah, rose farms produce roses year-round, thriving in cooler, temperate climates and reducing output during the summer heat. Farms in Jazan Region yield roughly 800 tons of aromatic plants annually, which are exported to numerous markets. The wilderness of Northern Borders Region also features a variety of aromatic plants. Aromatic products play an important role in several industries, including perfumes, soaps, personal care items, food, and cosmetics, underscoring their significance in Saudi manufacturing and export markets.
