Makkah: The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance is actively implementing its comprehensive operational and awareness plan to serve pilgrims during the 1447 AH Hajj season.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the ministry has completed maintenance, operation, and cleaning works at the main mosques across the holy sites to ensure infrastructure readiness. Upgrades include advanced air conditioning, sound, lighting, and public safety systems. Over 20,000 mosques and prayer halls along the pilgrims' routes and at their accommodations throughout the Kingdom have been fully prepared, including 1,650 mosques and prayer areas within the boundaries of the Grand Mosque in Makkah and its central zone.
In terms of awareness and guidance, the ministry has mobilized 1,822 preachers and 220 translators to assist pilgrims, delivering more than 160,000 religious lectures and outreach activities following daily prayers. The ministry has distributed over 1.4 million printed awareness materials in 27 languages and is coordinating the dispatch of more than 120 million multilingual text messages to educate pilgrims on Hajj rituals and safety protocols. Additionally, approximately 1.9 million copies of the Holy Quran and its translations, available in over 80 languages, have been prepared as gifts for departing pilgrims from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
To enhance the spiritual journey through digital transformation, the ministry has deployed free Wi-Fi networks across all pilgrim locations and installed advanced video-conferencing equipment to provide real-time religious rulings (Fatwas) at border crossings, reception halls, miqat stations, and throughout the holy sites.
