Mina: The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) is continuing its operational activities and providing meteorological services and data in Mina ahead of the Day of Tarwiyah, as part of an integrated ecosystem supporting safety plans and facilitating pilgrims' performance of rituals, in coordination with relevant entities in the holy sites.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the NCM relies on an integrated system of modern technologies and qualified national personnel to provide weather data and forecasts to relevant entities through hourly updates, in line with global best practices in monitoring and forecasting.
Through its operational meteorology system at Mina Observatory, the center issues 24 METAR reports and eight SYNOP bulletins on the Day of Tarwiyah, alongside special reports for severe weather phenomena, using four mobile automatic monitoring stations, early warning alerts, and a manned and automatic monitoring station at the site.
The center also continues its awareness programs in five languages, targeting pilgrims and field entities to raise awareness of weather changes and enhance safety during the performance of rituals.
