NCM Launches Third Edition of Climate Impact Workshop

Jeddah: The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) launched today at its headquarters in Jeddah the third edition of the "Climate Impact" workshop, with the participation of representatives from 37 government and field entities involved in Hajj season operations. The workshop aims to enhance joint coordination and readiness for the 1447 AH Hajj season.

According to Saudi Press Agency, NCM CEO Ayman Ghulam stressed the importance of early preparation for Hajj season. He noted that the center intensified efforts this year by strengthening the meteorological monitoring network in Makkah, Madinah, and the holy sites and by providing accurate meteorological services to ensure pilgrims' safety.

Ghulam added that atmospheric coverage of the holy sites has reached 100% through stations, radars, and modern technologies supported by specialized field teams.

The workshop is part of NCM's efforts to support the Hajj ecosystem with accurate climate information and achieve the highest levels of integration among relevant entities, ensuring a safe and stable season for pilgrims in line with Saudi Vision 2030 targets.
