Over 700 Saudi Judges Complete First Term of Criminal Law Diploma

Riyadh: The Saudi Ministry of Justice has announced the successful completion of the first term of the Higher Diploma in Criminal Law program, training over 700 judges from criminal courts, courts of first instance, appellate courts, and the Supreme Court. Each participant completed 165 hours of instruction.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the program was inaugurated by Minister of Justice Walid Al-Samaani and targets criminal court judges across all litigation stages as part of Saudi Arabia's judicial development. Conducted at the Judicial Training Center, it equips judges with skills to apply criminal law accurately, ensure compliance with statutory provisions, and enhance the quality of criminal judgments.

The curriculum covers core principles of criminal law, procedural frameworks, accurate crime classification, and the application of penalties under current Saudi laws.

The first phase focused on criminal court judges, with the second phase set to include judges from all judicial specialties.
