Prince Naif bin Thunayan Announces Date of Third King Salman International Award Ceremony for Graduate Studies on Arabian Peninsula History and Civilization

Riyadh: Prince Dr. Naif bin Thunayan bin Mohammed, the General Supervisor of King Salman's Center for Historical and Civilization Studies of Arabian Peninsula at King Saud University and Secretary-General of the King Salman International Award for Graduate Studies in the History and Civilization of Arabian Peninsula, has announced that the center is preparing to hold the award ceremony for its third edition, 2026/1447 AH.

According to Saudi Press Agency, King Saud University, represented by the King Salman Center, takes pride in hosting this international award, which is named after Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The award is designed to recognize King Salman's support for researchers and scholars while encouraging graduate students at both Saudi and international universities to engage in academic research concerning the history and civilization of the Arabian Peninsula. It also aims to foster competition among researchers in producing distinguished academic theses both within and outside the Kingdom.

The award comprises two categories: distinguished master's theses (or equivalent) and doctoral dissertations. Winners are awarded cash prizes, medals, and certificates featuring the award's logo. Enhancements have been made to the current edition, including improvements in its regulations, committee structure, scientific evaluation criteria, nomination requirements, and prize values. The nomination process has been broadened to include universities across the Arab world and internationally, whereas previously it was restricted to candidates from Saudi Arabia and GCC countries.

Prince Naif expressed his gratitude to the Saudi leadership for its ongoing support of scientific research and academic programs in institutions both within the Kingdom and abroad.
