Sheikh Al-Khazali and the Assistant of President of Russia discuss the historical relations between the two countries

The Secretary-General of the Asaib Ahl al-Haq movement, Sheikh Qais Al-Khazali, discussed with the Assistant of President of the Russian Federation, Igor Levitin, on Monday, the historical relations between the two countries.

The media office of the Secretary-General of the Asaib Ahl al-Haq movement said in a statement: “Sheikh Qais al-Khazali received in his office in Baghdad, Igor Levitin, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, and his accompanying delegation, consisting of the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Iraq, Elbrus Kutrashev, and a group of advisors in the Kremlin.

The statement added, "The meeting discussed the historical relations between the two countries, and ways to develop joint cooperation in light of the remarkable state of stability that Iraq is currently witnessing.

For his part, Levitin stressed his country's desire to strengthen bilateral relations and develop cooperation between the two countries, wishing the Iraqi government and people continued security and stability, which will help develop relations and increase the prospects for economic cooperation in the best ways.
