The Iranian president arrives in Damascus for the first visit of its kind in 13 years

Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi arrived today in Damascus on an official visit to Syria, which will last for two days. He will hold extensive political and economic talks with President al-Assad, followed by the signing of a number of agreements.

The Iranian President was received at Damascus airport by Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Mohammad Samer Khalil, head of the delegation of honor.

It is scheduled that the Iranian President will go to the People's Palace after the airport, where an official reception ceremony will be held.

The ministerial delegation accompanying the Iranian President includes:

-Hussein Amir Abdullahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

- Mehrdad Bazarbash, Minister of Roads and Urban Construction (Chairman of the Joint Economic Committee).

-Mohammad Reza Ashtiani, Minister of Defense.

-Cavat Ochi, Minister of Oil.

-Issa Zarepour, Minister of Communications.

Gholamhossein Ismaili, Secretary, Head of the Office of the President of the Republic

-Abbas Kalro, representative of the Islamic Consultative Council.

-Muhammad Jamshidi, Political Affairs Assistant to the Office of the President of the Republic.
