Damascus: The Theater and Performing Arts Commission concluded its participation in Syria as part of the cultural program of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's pavilion, as Guest of Honor at the Damascus International Book Fair 2026, held from February 5 to 16. During the event, the commission presented showcases of traditional Saudi performing arts and organized a cultural seminar, as part of its efforts to highlight the richness of the national cultural heritage and enhance its presence in international cultural forums.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the commission's participation attracted notable visitor engagement, featuring performances by 40 artists representing five traditional art forms from various regions of the Kingdom. These included Al-Samer from the central region, Al-Rafihi from the northern region, Al-Khattwah from the southern region, Al-Khubayti from the western region, and Al-Liwa from the eastern region, reflecting the diversity and richness of Saudi cultural identity and artistic components.
This participation builds on the commission's ongoing efforts to support cultural exchange, strengthen the regional and international presence of Saudi performing arts, and showcase the national cultural heritage at Arab and global cultural events.
