Riyadh: Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed Elkhereiji participated in a meeting of the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Jordan, held Thursday evening via video conference. He represented Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting was chaired by Bahrain's Minister of Foreign Affairs and current President of the GCC Ministerial Council, Dr. Abdullatif Al Zayani. Discussions during the meeting focused on ways to further strengthen the strong relations between the GCC countries and Jordan, as well as to advance their existing strategic partnership frameworks.
Participants in the virtual ministerial meeting also reaffirmed their strongest condemnation of Iran's blatant and unjustified attacks against the GCC countries and Jordan. They emphasized the right of the GCC states and Jordan to take all necessary measures and mobilize all available resources to protect their security and stability.
Deputy Minister for International Multilateral Affairs Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Rassi and Director of the GCC Department Faisal bin Saeed were also in attendance at the meeting.
