Minister of Foreign Affairs Receives Prime Minister of Tuvalu

Riyadh, March 12, 2023, SPA -- Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received today the Prime Minister of Tuvalu, Kausea Natano.

At the outset of the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed to the Prime Minister the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, along with wishes of continuous stability, progress, and prosperity for the government and people of the Republic of Tuvalu.

Afterwards, the two officials held an official session of talks during which they reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop them in all fields. They also discussed the most important regional and international issues and developments of mutual interest, as well as the efforts exerted in this regard.

Deputy Minister for Multi-International Affairs Dr Abdulrahman Al-Rassi attended the meeting and official session of talks.

Founder of Extreme E Racing: We Seek to Increase Number of Races from 5 to 10 Annually

Tabuk, March 12, 2023, SPA -- Alejandro Agag, Founder and CEO of Extreme E, has commended the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for hosting the electric SUV competition for the third consecutive year. He expressed his desire to increase the number of races held in the country from five to ten per year.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), he stressed that electric motorsports have become a model that proves harmony between motorsports, excitement, and sustainability.

The first round of the competition, which took place in NEOM, featured ten international teams with a total of twenty male and female drivers. All drivers will compete in the "Odyssey 21" vehicle.

Ministry of Economy and Planning Holds Workshops with Retailers to Identify Opportunities to Enable Further Growth

Riyadh, March 12, 2023, SPA -- The Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP) held a series of focus group workshops in Riyadh with companies in the retail sector to discuss challenges faced in the sector and brainstorm potential solutions to enable further growth, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 goals, to diversify the economy.

The workshops were held with approximately 50 private sector companies across the following retail subsectors: fashion and luxury, e-commerce, electronics and appliances, restaurants and cafes, and groceries.

Workshop participants explored challenges faced by the sector based on the results of a survey they had been invited to complete by the Ministry and discussed potential solutions to address them.

Federation of Saudi Chambers Takes Part in Bangladesh Business Summit 2023

Dhaka, March 12, 2023, SPA -- The Federation of Saudi Chambers took part in the Bangladesh Business Summit 2023, which was held in Dhaka, with the broad participation of international investors.

The summit witnessed the participation of ministers from seven countries, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, CEOs of multinational companies, and more than 200 foreign investors and business leaders from 17 countries.

This participation aims to identify new trade and investment opportunities in Bangladesh. The Saudi delegation held a series of meetings and field visits to companies and discussed with its business counterparts in Bangladesh the available opportunities on both sides.

SDAIA and Huawei Discuss Strengthening Cooperation in Data, AI, and Advanced Technologies

Beijing, March 12, 2023, SPA -- The Director of the National Information Center at the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), Dr. Essam bin Abdullah Al-Wagait, visited Huawei's headquarters in China to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between SDAIA and Huawei in the fields of data, artificial intelligence, advanced technologies, knowledge localization, and exchanging experiences in these domains.

During his visit, Dr. Al-Wagait held meetings with the Company's CEO and several company officials to discuss digital transformation and its impact on achieving the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and its goals, in which the digital infrastructure plays a vital role. He noted that data and artificial intelligence are the two engines supporting the exploration of visions and achieving the goals of the vision and SDAIA's strategy towards building advanced data centers.

Dr. Al-Wagait also visited the Huawei exhibition, which highlights the company’s most important advanced technologies, the cloud computing exhibition for infrastructure, communications, and cloud computing technologies, and the Ping Cheng Research Laboratory.
