Death Toll from Venezuela Earthquakes Reaches 4,490

Caracas: The death toll from the two earthquakes that struck Venezuela last month has risen to 4,490 fatalities.

According to Saudi Press Agency, President of the Venezuelan National Assembly Jorge Rodr­guez stated that 108 temporary camps have been established to accommodate more than 19,000 people who lost their homes as a result of the two earthquakes.

Two powerful earthquakes, measuring 7.5 and 7.2 magnitudes, struck Venezuela on June 24, followed by more than 1,000 much weaker aftershocks.
