Maldives Islamic Leaders Praise Saudi Arabia’s Promotion of Moderation

Mal©: A number of Islamic leaders and figures in the Republic of Maldives praised Saudi Arabia's leading role in serving Islam and Muslims, commending the efforts of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance in implementing scholarly and religious outreach programs that promote authentic Islamic teachings, promote the values of moderation, and reinforce tolerance and coexistence.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the remarks were made on the sidelines of a foundational course on core Islamic beliefs, organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance through the Religious Attach© at the Saudi Embassy in India, in cooperation with the Maldives' Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Endowments.

The course is currently being held in Mal© with the participation of more than 120 male and female imams, preachers, muezzins, and students of Islamic studies.

Maldives' Minister of Islamic Affairs and Endowments Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed said the course addresses one of the most important issues facing Muslim societies, as it helps reinforce tawhid, promote moderation, and reject extremism. He thanked the Saudi leadership and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance for their continued support for such programs.

The course is part of a series of educational and outreach programs implemented by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance outside the Kingdom to promote Islamic knowledge, uphold authentic Islamic teachings, foster moderation, and advance Saudi Arabia's mission to serve Islam and Muslims worldwide.
