The National Intelligence Council holds its session headed by Al-Araji

The National Intelligence Council held today, Sunday, its seventh session for the year 2024, headed by the National Security Advisor, Qasim Al-Araji, and in the presence of leaders of the National Intelligence Community. The National Security Advisory said in a statement, 'The Council discussed the topics on the agenda and took the necessary decisions and recommendations regarding them.' The statement added, "The council members presented a brief on the future work plan, in addition to discussing the common security files between the center and the region, in order to achieve integration and coordination in the security and intelligence aspects." Al-Araji stressed "the importance of implementing the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, related to adherence to intelligence work fields and professionalism in performing security tasks." (27) defendants arrested, including someone impersonating an officer

Detachments of the Baghdad Joint Operations Command arrested (27) defendants, including someone impersonating an officer, and seized unlicensed weapons and equipment, two drones, and a quantity of narcotic substances and drug abuse devices. Baghdad Operations stated in a statement, 'Through their deployment and the establishment of sudden and temporary checkpoints on the Karkh and Rusafa sides, in coordination with the Intelligence and Security Department of our command, the Baghdad Joint Operations Command detachments were able to arrest (27) defendants in accordance with various legal articles, including one impersonating an official (officer), and others for criminal offenses and possession of unlicensed weapons. Some of them were seized with a quantity of crystal, drug abuse devices, and various types of narcotic pills, in addition to the confiscation of one rifle, (19) pistols, and a quantity of equipment and other materials, in addition to the seizure of two drones and a number of cars violating traffi c regulations. Basra Police arrested three accused drug traffickers, who tried to introduce narcotic substances to one of the detainees in a police station. The Basra Governorate Police Command stated that, through careful inspections, three defendants were arrested for trying to introduce narcotic substances to one of the detainees at Al-Hadi Police Station. It pointed out, "During the official confrontations with the detainees at Al-Hadi Police Station, the defendants tried to exploit it and introduce drugs by putting them inside the food. When the food was searched, the narcotic substance was found and two defendants were arrested, and in their place the main promoter was arrested."
