CST Launches ‘Saudi Domain’ Campaign to Register Saudi Domain Names

Riyadh: The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) renewed its call to those wishing to register their Saudi domain names through its licensed registrars in conjunction with the launch of its "Saudi Domain" campaign, aimed at raising awareness of the importance, features, and impact of Saudi domain names in promoting digital identity for both individuals and entities in the Kingdom.

According to Saudi Press Agency, CST explained that the Saudi domain names are served by a reliable infrastructure with more than 300 distributed Name Servers, making it one of the largest in the world based on international best practices and standards. CST also reaffirmed its regulatory and supervisory role over the registration of Saudi domain names, ensuring the protection of registrants' rights and enhancing the quality of services provided through licensed registrars.

CST revealed that the campaign targets government entities and the private sector as well as individuals, indicating that the private sector and individuals can register their domain names through its licensed registrars, while government entities can register their domains via the Digital Government Authority by visiting: https://nic.sa/en/registrars.

The domain name is the main resource of the Domain Name System (DNS), one of the most critical components of the Internet infrastructure, and the main enabler of network access to services, applications, and digital content. This initiative stems from CST's key role in enabling the Kingdom's communications and technology ecosystem through regulatory and guidance tools that help enhance the reliability and credibility of the digital environment while promoting the use of national digital resources.
