SDAIA Issues Data Monetization Policy to Strengthen Saudi Data Market

Riyadh: The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has issued a Data Monetization Policy aimed at supporting the growth of the data market in the Kingdom by establishing core principles and general rules governing the development of data-driven products and services produced by government entities. This step strengthens the development of a data-based economy and reinforces responsible data usage practices.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the policy aims to encourage entities to innovate and invest in the data sector, while ensuring the protection of individual privacy when developing and using products and services based on personal data processing. It also promotes the expansion of open data dissemination, supporting transparency and enabling various sectors to benefit from it.

SDAIA clarified that the scope of the policy includes government entity data when developing, providing, or using data products and services, as well as data obtained by private entities while performing tasks on behalf of government entities, or data initially obtained from a government entity by any means and for any purpose.

SDAIA invited all relevant entities to review the policy via the following link and comply with its provisions to ensure regulatory adherence and maximize data utilization.

The policy is an extension of SDAIA's efforts to regulate the data and artificial intelligence sector in the Kingdom, enhance data governance, and support the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, reinforcing the Kingdom's position as a global leader in data and AI, particularly as 2026 has been declared the Year of Artificial Intelligence.
